Great Gifts for Fishermen
An image of some pretty ropey fishing kit by freepik… Not the sort of stuff I’ll typically recommend!
As I say on my Gift Consultancy page, one of the great things about fishermen is there is ALWAYS a great present you can buy them. However, if you’re not a fisherman yourself then I imagine knowing where to start is daunting.
Below are ten generic ideas for good, affordable fishing-related presents but if you want to give a gift that is a little special or technical then please get in touch. From advice on fishing tackle to fishing experiences, fishing art to fashion I can research and provide ideas. And, of course, you could always get them a voucher for a lesson with me or half a day fishing for wild trout and grayling on a local chalkstream.
Ten generic, affordable fishing-related gifts
Fishing cufflinks - a subtle nod to their favourite hobby on occasions when a formal shirt is the order of the day. (£23)
Angling Trust membership - support the organisation that represents anglers and fights for fish, fishing and the environment. (£28-£35)
Wild Trout Trust membership - a river conservation charity focused on improving habitat for wild brown trout. (£49-£600)
Novelty fishing socks - I’ve got these myself! They’re comfy and a bit of fun. (£15)
Necklace - I’ve no idea what the chilli is doing with the fish on this necklace but then I’m not a designer… I’ve found prettier jewellery out there but thought I’d share the nicest of the more lower cost options. (£12)
Cushion - you can get fun fish shaped cushions but I prefer these mackerel print ones which would look very nice in the right theme of room. (£15-£23)
Mug - this is always my go to mug when that itch to get out on the bank is turning into a twitch... (£15)
T-shirt/ baseball cap - I don’t remember there being any fishing in The Godfather, but The Rodfather concept brings together fishing and film in a way that makes me smile. (£12/£14)
Fishing log book - keeping track of your catches helps turn trips and sessions into great memories. It also increases the chances of spotting patterns (tides, air pressure, time of year etc) that give better anglers the edge. (£6.40)
Travel mug - fishing on a winter’s day can be beautiful. A steaming mug of hot chocolate, tea or coffee just makes it better. (£10)
